As you can see from the preceding section, specialized testing is needed to determine the proper prescription and recommendations for the digital user. No user has the same digital environment, prescription, needs, and shortcomings. So each finding and recommendation needs to be tailored to that individual’s visual demands. This is what we do at our office.

We are very proud to have and utilize the RightEye visual testing instrument in our office. This unique device actually tests the patient on a computer and is used to determine their coordination, tracking and focusing skills while using a digital device. The findings from this testing, combined with the testing performed by the doctor in the examination room, insures that the patient is getting the absolute best correction and recommendations for their unique needs. 

Along with conventional contacts and eyeglasses, we also are able to fit and order a variety of specialty lenses that are specifically designed for the digital user. From contact lens dryness to eyeglass distortion, we have the means to enhance clarity, efficiency and comfort.

Patients are also encouraged to take pictures of their working areas, and bring them to the examination, so that ergonomic recommendations can be made as well. 

There is no one solution to Digital Eye Strain, but we have the testing ability, expertise and visual correction methods to determine the needs of the individual device user. With these capabilities we hope to provide the visual care needed in today’s and tomorrow’s digital environments.
